Conference: 28th & 29th December 2017

Cities are an amorphous manifestation of its culture, socio-economic, political and demographic diversity. Cities are dynamic in nature, they keep on changing in terms of population growth and land speculation. Thus, the resultant built form has become complex, chaotic and shapeless. It no more reflects a coherent vision and ambiance to its environmental context. The mega trends of urbanization, climate change, globalization and demographic change will shape the future of cities. There is a need to recognize the potential and address the need of urban development in a dynamic manner. The complexity involved requires a holistic view and sustainable solutions for cities. Sustainable Urban Planning is a tool for planners to recognize the potential of urban development in order to make the best use of resources in order to improve quality of life and spurring economic growth.

As Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India is taking pride and started Smart City Mission for the development of Smart Cities in India, we are arranging this conference with reputed Key note Speakers from various parts of the world to create awareness, new ideas, best practices and policies to implement the mission effectively. The main objective of this conference is to provide a common platform for all scholars and research practitioners from civil engineering discipline within the academia and industry to pool together their experiences and research to help the participants in understanding what smart sustainable cities are about.
